A Joyful Play Corner for Children at BRAC University Alumni Reunion 2026
On 8 May 2026, at the first-ever BRAC University All Alumni Reunion, BRAC Institute of Educational Development (BRAC IED) created a vibrant and engaging play corner for alumni and their children — bringing together play, creativity, and meaningful learning experiences in a joyful environment.
Designed around the importance of play in children’s learning and development, the corner featured interactive spaces including Golper Bhubon, Surer Bhubon, Shopner Bhubon, and Ronger Bhubon. Through storytelling, music, art, imagination, and hands-on activities, children explored their creativity, expressed themselves freely, and engaged in playful learning experiences throughout the event.
Alumni and their children actively participated together in the activities, making the play corner a meaningful family experience within the reunion celebration. The enthusiastic participation of BRAC IED team members and volunteers made the space lively, welcoming, and memorable for everyone present.
The play corner was visited by David Dowland, Registrar, Office of the Registrar, BRAC University, and Tahsina Rahman, Additional Director and Head of Student Life, BRAC University, who appreciated the initiative for creating an inclusive, interactive, and child-friendly environment. Tahsina Rahman, also an alumna of the Master of Education in Educational Leadership and School Improvement programme, shared reflections on her experience and engagement with the institute.
The reunion also served as a valuable opportunity to reconnect with alumni from the Master of Education (MEd) and MSc in Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes. Alumni reflected on how the programmes strengthened their professional practices and deepened their understanding of inclusive, learner-centred, and play-based approaches to education.
Information on BRAC IED’s academic programmes and professional courses was also showcased during the event, allowing alumni and visitors to learn more about the institute’s work in education, early childhood development, mental health, and leadership.
Overall, the initiative reflected BRAC IED’s continued commitment to creating engaging learning environments that connect children, families, educators, and alumni, while reinforcing the importance of play as a foundation for learning, creativity, wellbeing, and development.
